Here are our quick tips on best preparing your bathroom when selling. 

Simplify Surfaces

Start by removing personal items such as toothbrushes, cosmetics, and towels from surfaces. Keep surfaces clear to create a sense of space and cleanliness. 

Deep Clean

Before you start with your open homes, thoroughly clean your bathroom. Scrub the tub, shower, sink, and toilet to remove stains or grime. 

Remember to give the grout between the tiles special attention. Mould build-up or staining can give the impression of a not-so-well-maintained bathroom. 

Fix Any Issues

Check for any leaky taps, loose tiles, or malfunctioning fixtures. Repairing these minor issues can improve the overall impression of your bathroom and reassure potential buyers of its condition and functionality. 

Our tip: If your bathroom has not been recently renovated, don't worry. Simple changes like new tapware, mirrors, and a vanity unit will make it feel fresh and clean. 

Neutralise Odours

A deep clean will usually eliminate unpleasant odours. If you do need an air freshener, opt for mild, neutral scents rather than overpowering fragrances to appeal to a wider range of preferences. 

Our tip: Don't use plug-in air fresheners from the supermarket, as their scent can be overpowering. 

Organise Storage Spaces

Neatly organise cabinets, drawers, and shelves. Potential buyers will likely peek inside these storage spaces, so keep them tidy to showcase the bathroom's functionality, cleanliness and storage capacity.

Our tip: remove one-third of the items from drawers and shelves. The less clutter, the better.

Fresh Linens

Invest in new, clean towels. Choose neutral colours to complement the bathroom's decor and create a clean, relaxed space. Avoid having a collection of towels that have been collected over the years. Remove bathmats to help make the space feel larger. 

Maximise Natural Light

Clean all windows and glass in the bathroom to let in natural light, which can make the space feel brighter and cleaner. Ensure that all glass and mirrors are free of smudges or streaks.

Clean Exhaust Fans

Make sure to pay attention to your exhaust fans as these accumulate dust quickly. Ensure that they are clean and dust-free.
